Overview of Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Supervisor will supervise and administer a large, high-volume monthly payroll to ensure employees are paid right, first time.

You will be responsible for the accurate processing of the payroll, liaising with internal and external stakeholders ensuring their expectations and deadlines are met. You will be customer-focused, detail-oriented and motivated to meet and exceed customer needs every day.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

-Provide accurate and timely payroll service ensuring that deadlines are met for all payroll related activities, including pensions
-Assist the Payroll Manager in the day-to-day supervision of the Payroll team, ensuring work is assigned fairly and completed within defined timelines
-Keep up to date with payroll, benefits and pensions legislation and best working practices and procedures
-Manage the monthly Operative payroll, ensuring accuracy of data and compliance with legal requirements
-Draft monthly new batch communications for sign-off by the Payroll Manager and issue
-Review Manager training and support and action as required
-Issue timeline / deadline reminders and resolve stakeholder queries as they are received
-Provide regular updates (weekly and / or monthly as required) to the Payroll Manager in relation to the budget, legal updates and payroll related initiatives in line with the Company strategy
-Assist the Payroll Manager with monthly Payroll balancing, including Income Tax, NI Contributions, SMP, SSP, furlough etc. and preparing the disbursement for HMRC at the end of each month
-Processing statutory documentation such as payslips, P45, P46, P60`s, court orders, statutory payments (sickness, maternity / paternity), furlough etc
-Deal with external local and government bodies, such as HMRC, local council for pay deduction related queries
-Manage and report monthly pension contributions
-Overall responsibility for employee documentation including legal `Right to work` documents
-Process starters and leavers and ensure all employee records are maintained accurately and up to date
-Process TUPE IN/OUT, handling different terms & conditions, assisting in preparation of Employer Liability Information sheet
-Comply with any reasonable requests made by management
Up to 6 month fixed term contract

Start date is immediately and salary is Dependent On Experience.
