Vacancy Description

At Tenon FM we are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, preferably with experience of a fast-moving environment in Facilities Management to be based in the Hertfordshire area.

Purpose of the Job:

You will undertake as necessary any planned and reactive maintenance works within skill / experience range as directed. You will also take a lead role in the delivery of maintenance activities across UoH estates with a key focus compliance. Also, where necessary direct / coordinate sub-contractors in the delivery of maintenance activities as directed by line management.

Finally, you will also liaise with the on-site customer management team, ensure that all Tenon and sub-contractor paperwork is up to date as well as ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures are followed as per Company H&S guidelines, thereby guaranteeing service excellence to our client.

Key Responsibilities:

-Work safely, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of yourself, colleagues, customers and visitors
-Comply with and work in accordance with work instructions, safe working practices and method statements, COSHH and manual handling requirements and consult work risk assessments, ensuring these are up to date, and complete and submit all relevant records (paper and electronic) in an accurate timely manner
-Comply with all task method statements and consult work risk assessments to ensure these are up to date including any requirements for COSHH and manual handling
-Proactively report to the Helpdesk any defects found throughout the buildings in a timely manner
-Ensure that any sub-contractors or other specialist service partners delivering services on behalf of the company comply with Tenon health, safety and environmental requirements, including, but not limited to, complying with Permit to Work and safe systems of works requirements, complete task specific risk assessments when required and carry out Point of Work risk assessments for all activities
-Ability to work safely in trade discipline and engage the need for second person attendance on tasks where the multi skill application requires support
-Maintain accurate PPM works / service records, complete and update allocated tasks through the CAFM system
-Reactive maintenance tasks issued through CAFM are to be completed within the contracts service level agreements and take corrective action where required
-Take responsibility and ownership of all task(s) allocated, carrying out skilled planned maintenance, repair and improvements, ensuring all deliverable SLA / KPI targets are met or exceeded
-Be part of the 24 call out service, as per the agreed rota, with specific responsibility for critical emergencies
-Proactively promote within the maintenance team our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, encourage the team to seek opportunities to improve work activities and processes to increase efficiency
-Liaise with all FM departments to ensure seamless delivery of services
-Actively share suggestions and ideas during team meetings
-Ensure that you read Health and Safety alerts, communications, training and Toolbox Talks. Inform your Supervisor if you do not understand information received
-Be prepared to assist colleagues in a willing and positive manner including assisting with other duties as required
-Complete all relevant training, including E-learning, as required in your role and by Company policies and procedures
-Promote good safety habits and methods of work and be personally aware of and meet the legal and Company requirements for fire, safety, health
-Report health and safety issues to your line manager, including all accidents and near misses
-All work equipment and Personal Protective Equipment must be fit for purpose and should be checked before and after use on each occasion
-Ensure that all materials and equipment are used in accordance with COSHH, stored correctly and returned to the appropriate storeroom
-Demonstrate commercial awareness by identifying new business opportunities and cost reduction initiatives
-Comply with any reasonable requests made by management
-Experienced Multi-skilled engineer across all aspects of mechanical, with a proven track record of delivery service excellence in a demanding client-facing environment

Essential & Desirable Requirements:

-AHU and humidifier plant
-Analytical and Fault finding skills
-Basic knowledge with drawings
-BMS systems and controls
-CHP and boiler plant
-Health and Safety knowledge (desirable)
-PASMA qualified for mobile scaffold towers
-Elevating platform Licence (MEWP)
-Ability to demonstrate exceptional organisational and planning skills
-Be an excellent communicator with the ability to confidently and credibly engage and influence clients, partners and employees
-Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite and using CAFM systems

Salary: £35,000 per annum
