ABOUT YOU:

-Experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer across all aspects of mechanical, including dissemble and reassemble pumps, motors and fan units.
-Experience of:
oAHU and humidifier plant, chiller and cooling plant including split and fan coil air conditioning
oAnalytical and fault-finding skills
oBasic knowledge with drawings
oBMS systems and controls
oCHP and boiler plant
-Health and Safety knowledge (desirable).
-PASMA qualified for mobile scaffold towers.
-Elevating platform Licence (MEWP).
-Ability to demonstrate exceptional organisational and planning skills.
-Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite and using CAFM systems.
-Proven record of being responsive and innovative.
-Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines when needed.
-Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet Company core values.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently recruiting for motivated, reliable and customer focused Multi-Skilled Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to join our team based at the University of Hertfordshire, in Hatfield.

Job Type: Permanent - Full Time.

Pay Rate: Up to £38,000 per annum - dependent upon experience. Plus call-out payments increasing your earnings to over £40K.
Plus overtime when required.

Working Hours: 40 Hrs per week, Monday to Friday.

Start Date: Immediately.

Overview of the role:

Undertake as necessary any planned and reactive maintenance works within skill / experience range as directed. Take a lead role in the delivery of maintenance activities across the University estates with a key focus compliance. Where necessary direct / coordinate sub-contractors in the delivery of maintenance activities as directed by line management.

***this is NOT installation or project work, but planned and breakdown maintenance***

Liaise with the on-site customer management team, ensure that all Tenon and sub-contractor paperwork is up to date as well as ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures are followed as per Company H&S guidelines, thereby guaranteeing service excellence to our client.

Your responsibilities and Key Areas of work may include:

-Work safely, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of yourself, colleagues, customers and visitors.
-Comply with and work in accordance with work instructions, safe working practices and method statements, COSHH and manual handling requirements and consult work risk assessments, ensuring these are up to date, and complete and submit all relevant records (paper and electronic) in an accurate timely manner.
-Proactively report to the Helpdesk any defects found throughout the buildings in a timely manner.
-Ability to work safely in trade discipline and engage the need for second person attendance on tasks where the multi skill application requires support.
-Ensure all reactive and proactive/PPM tasks are recorded with accurate information and completed with in agreed timelines.
-Be part of the 24 call out service, as per the agreed rota, with specific responsibility for critical emergencies.
-Proactively promote within the maintenance team our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, encourage the team to seek opportunities to improve work activities and processes to increase efficiency.
-Ensure that you read Health and Safety alerts, communications, training and Toolbox Talks. Inform your Supervisor if you do not understand information received.
-Promote good safety habits and methods of work and be personally aware of and meet the legal and Company requirements for fire, safety, health.
-Report health and safety issues to your line manager, including all accidents and near misses.
